Massachusetts concerts and music festivals you can attend this summer (2024)

With the official start of summer being just a few weeks away, the warm temperatures call for concerts and music festivals to start back up again.

After many events were canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic, Massachusetts is ready to get back into full gear of live music, big crowds, and the excitement that these events bring.

Here are some of the concerts and music festivals in the state to look forward to this summer.

The Forest Park Concert Series

The Parks Department will host the Forest Park Concert Series, starting Thursday, June 9, at the park’s amphitheater. The outdoor concerts are all scheduled for Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and are open to the public for free. The lineup includes Dee Reilly on June 9, Manzi Family Band on June 16, Trailer Trash on June 23, and the Floyd Patterson Band on June 30. The shows will be held inside the Carriage House Tent if rain occurs, MassLive previously reported.

Garth Brooks at Gillette Stadium

Garth Brooks will kick off the 2022 Gillette Stadium Concert Series with his consecutive performances on May 20 and May 21 in Foxborough. Both the May 20 and May 21 shows will start at 7 p.m. with parking lots scheduled to open at 3 p.m. and gates opening at 5 p.m. Limited tickets for both shows are available for $94.95 each, inclusive of fees and taxes, and can be purchased here.

Imagine Dragons at Fenway Park

The Grammy award winning group have announced 20 new shows on their Mercury World Tour, including one show at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 20. The band’s summer North American tour celebrates the release of their latest album, “Mercury – Act 1,” kicking off in August 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah, with special guests Macklemore and Kings Elliot to accompany the dour on select dates. Naumkeag at Night in Stockbridge

In the Berkshires, the Naumkeag estate will host a variety of live music provided by the area’s bands, according to Trustees. Light refreshments will be offered in the outdoor snack shack and guests are welcome to bring their own food, drinks, chairs and blankets. Hosted once a month on Thursdays, the lineup includes the Late Risers on June 9, Fiesta Del Norte on July 14th, Kina Zoré on Aug. 11, and Wanda Houston on Sept. 8. Trustees member adult tickets will cost $9 and member children admission is free. Non member adult tickets cost $15 and non member children tickets cost $6.

Concert on the Lawn: Beatles For Sale

“Beatles for Sale,” a Beatles tribute band will recreate the sounds of the Beatles live in concert Saturday, June 11 at Francis William Bird Park in Walpole. “This band of talented musicians was drawn together by their love of Beatles music and the desire to keep the music alive, bringing it to a whole new generation of Beatles fans,” Trustees wrote on their website. Guests can bring a chair or blanket to sit on the lawn. Admission is free of charge.

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band

Live rock supergroup, led by former Beatles member Ringo Starr, will be in Worcester this summer at the Hanover Theatre on Friday, June 3. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. The group will also be performing in Boston on Thursday, June 2 at the Wang Theatre.

New Kids On The Block at TD Garden

As part of their Mixtape Tour, the Dorchester native boy band will be back in Boston on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m. Both shows will take place at TD Garden. Joining their lineup will be other 80′s icons Salt N Pepa, En Vogue, and Rick Astley. Tickets for the show can be purchased here.

Boston Calling Music Festival

The music festival located at the Harvard Stadium in Boston will take place over the course of Memorial Day weekend, May 27 to 29. Each day will host a lineup of big acts like The Strokes, Nine Inch Nails, and Metallica among others.

“More than 50 performances across 4 outdoor stages and an indoor arena, the best food in Boston, 100 foot Ferris wheel, art installations, life-size games, and other exciting activities. There’s so much to explore and see at Boston Calling,” the festival wrote to its website. Tickets offered include general admission, VIP and Platinum and can be purchased here.

Worcester Caribbean American Heritage Festival

Taking place on Sunday, June 19 at Institute Park in Worcester, the Caribbean American Heritage Festival will begin at 12 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. There will be one stage with local talent to perform. The featured music at the festival will be Jazz, DJ/Dance/Techno, Reggae and Latin, Festival Net wrote on their website. The event is free of charge.

First Annual Charity Benefit Concert at MGM Music Hall at Fenway

The 617 Rocks Foundation, in partnership with Live Nation, announced that its first annual charity benefit concert will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27 2022 as part of the grand opening celebration of the new MGM Music Hall at Fenway, according to a release. The concert will feature Godsmack and Otherwise, and all proceeds will benefit The Scars Foundation, which is a mental health charity founded by Godsmack’s Sully Erna, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The show will begin at 8 p.m. at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here.
