Legal analyst and trial attorney Kelly Hyman told Fox Business that a trademark, a symbol or design owned by a company, must be unique and distinctive.

The legal expert added that Meta could challenge Twitter’s logo and call it trademark infringement, but any dispute between the two companies would ultimately be up to a judge.

“A potential problem with Twitter’s rebranding is that Microsoft and Meta may retain the X trademark as brand identities,” Hyman explained.
