Great topic driven by Jeff Selingo worthy of thought by recruiters, colleges, and others. My view is that college isnβt about learning the technical skills. Itβs about helping learners developing their Core Skills. Communication. Empathy. Problem solving. Teamwork. These are the skills highlighted by National Association of Colleges and Employers as most valued by employers! And most importantly itβs learning how to learn. Whether the class is philosophy, stats, accounting, history, or anything else, college provides a great opportunity to help individuals master the skills necessary to figure out those things that they didnβt know before that can be applied in work, as citizens, and in life.

Audience & Market Insights for Higher Education, Social Intelligence, Organizational Transformation, Innovation, Founder & CEO of Campus Sonar

I'm considering hiring an experienced higher education executive for a 4-9 month "Executive in Residence" contract opportunity to work with me and the Campus Sonar team during a growth period for the business. The focus would be on working with c-suite and executive leaders on new business opportunities (i.e., sales), and building additional executive engagement capacity in our client services team. I'm putting out some feelers because I know the people who are interested in such an opportunity may not be public about it, and I'm currently in the exploratory phase as I consider what the evolution of marketing/sales looks like in the business. If you think you could rock this or have thoughts/advice, send me a message here (or my email is in my bio).I'm thinking a successful Executive in Residence will check 3 or more of these boxes:-You've worked at the cabinet level for 5+ years-You have multi-functional higher education experience and insight-You've worked on/with multiple campus types-You've held a leadership position with revenue-related goals and have a history of attaining them.-You have availability to devote approximately 20-30 hours per week to the role.-You're available to travel 1-3 times per month as needed-You see the value of social intelligence to help higher ed organizations thrive amidst shifting demographics and declining public trustThanks in advance for your help as I determine if this is the right move for me/us right now, and for sharing with people in your network who may be interested or helpful!
